very "folksy". Tuesday was a busy day at
the office, with no Miss R. there. It
poured at 12 o'clock & a good deal of the
7th
p.m. Wednesday was better - got my
pictures which are fine (about 200 of them,
anyway) J.W. was delighted with them
& wants some to send Mr. Thomas,
J.G. gushed too, & looked them
carefully over - a good deal for him to do. I went to the dentist's
at noon, & to lunch with Con,
George & Mr. Roderhurst,
Con got home last night from up the
lakes & looks very brown & handsome and feels "fine" - all but the
place under the fifth rib "where" the meteor struck" (a stunning
"peacherino" in a red hat, he met coming form
Duluth (Walker). He spent the evening here
telling me
6th
about it. Last night (Tuesday) Claude
took me to the Musee - which is
Cook's this season & we saw a
little Jap juggler do wonderful things with his feet & hands
with lovely lacquered tables & things and there was a biograph
of the Spanish ship "Viscaya" - for which Joe Monk's
music was "You're not so warm!".
