when I went there that it made me faint & sick - but I managed
to get home & to the sofa - where I spent a good deal of the day.
Slept a couple of hours before supper & felt much
better in the evening. Sewed & Papa
read aloud.
Mch 11. Thurs.

A beautiful spring day. The ice broke up yesterday or day before
& they are cleaning the streets and its as much like spring as
it was April 5th last year. Saw
Ned this noon & walked up with Marytwice & called on Lura & met Helen
Davis at noon- & Frank - and saw Dr.
Scranton, who "thinks he may have to take off that crown
& treat the tooth"! - Monster! Before supper I got down Diana & pumped her up &c. and rode
her over to "gym" tonight. Only
Miss Kernine, Miss Englehardt,
Rose & I were there (&
visitors!) & we had lots of fun. Played bean bags &c. and
Rose told some funny stories.
She was hilarious. I walked over to the corner of
Spring & Fitzhugh St. with her. Ned was entertaining
Will. Read Harper's Weekly
(Administration No.) later.
March 12. FridayMary's birthday. Bleak. Too much so for
bicycling. Tonight there was a small blizzard. Will (H.O.)
and Ned came up and spent the evening
till nearly eleven! He is the same as ever and Ned
is "meek and mild." She & I sent Mary "Saint Anthony".
Mch. 13. Saturday.
Pleasanter, but still cold. Went in to see Lura
this noon. Tonight met Edith and
Emma, as
