between here & the corner - & still invited me to ride out with him! I didn't, but got Xmas presents ready to do up & wrote labels &c. Helen Davis - in her new finery - came to dinner & Con came back. It was nice & jolly & a good dinner. We all sat 'round the fire afterwards. Mary & Edith came while we were doing the dishes & we were all 6 of us in the kitchen at once - Mary, Edith, Helen, Con, Claude & I. Then we staid & talked by the firelight till after dark - Claude & Con went away, & then Mary & Edith and Frankcame & we had doughnuts & milk & then he & Helen went to church. I wrote & read & made toast. Haven't been out today. Claude made a cover for a Stevenson calendar which Alice Atkinson is getting up. Dec. 20. Monday Went shopping with Con tonight. Then walked home to a late supper & went over to see Ned Dutcher Orchard - at her Aunt's - stopped at Baker's to leave Lura's gift's (Turkish slippers & a book) with Charlie
at the back door, and then went 'round to the front & in to eat a piece of Mrs. Baker's famous mince pie - with Lura, "Sweet Marie, & Helen Davis, who was there. Ned looked lovely as ever & flew to put away her "work" (something for me). Edith came - & Mary, later - both with sewing, but Ned & I sat idle, talking and listening, all the evening. Tired out.
