came up and found a sweet note from Mary when I got home. "Figured" etc. tonight. Mch. 14. Sunday Pleasant but very windy. Was invited to Lura's to dinner. Took a bath, when I got the dishes washed - & then dressed & went down to Mary's for a chat with her and Nellie in the "smoking room". Rode over to Lura's and the Doctor and Mrs. DeGraff began at dinner and kept up their attentions as of yore! We went into Lura's parlor and I sat on the divan with Mr. D. & we talked a long time - Discussed "The Light that Failed" (my favorite novel) which I am taking to Charlotte - and talked Sacketts Harbor with the Dr. When Lura & I started for Davis's, they went too. We walked and were blown out there! Had a pleasant call. "The boys" went a little after five, but L. & I staid and had supper and taked to and were talked to by the parrot. It was a beautiful moonlight night. The air all blown clear & the wind still blowing. Mch. 15. Monday. Still bleak. Walked up with Mary this noon and Fay King. Gymnasium tonight & I was too used up to spend much energy. Walked over with Ned. Mch. 16. Tuesday. Visited Lura this noon. Weather better & a romance going on - in my brain - "Tis useless to seek thy Bride in her bower 'Til she has been missing full twenty-four hour. Then -
