stopped me on the stairs yesterday for a long conversation. He has a
new black suit & red & black tie & looks fine.

Last Sunday (2nd) I went up to High- land Park and sat an hour or two
over looking the lovely valley & reading my Kipling
- dear Kipling - about the
Wurra tides and so on. I walked back & got some purple
asters & things and after dinner went to the Davises & sat on the back piazza
with Mr. & Mrs. D.
& Chat came out & then
