Matie came over and brought me a bunch of carnations and told me Mr. Bleloch had such a nice time and thought the girls were lovely - "but he liked Miss Bragdon best". This seems to be quite a day for extending compliments. The girls evidently quite lost their hearts to love - and Mrs. Baker, too. Tonight we went to the Wilbur's opening night. Alice, Nellie, Mary, Ned & Edith & I together & the others there - 16 I think. Mr. DeGraff passed me a note to ask how the "folks" were - his old joke. The opera was Enimme

& they has a new soprano and actually new costumes! "Clark" was insufferable, I think - such swaggering. The living pictures were the same old things. When we came out we were amazed to find it raining. We ran to Dake's then took a car & Mr. DeGraff got umbrellas at his office. May 4. Tuesday Cold & rainy-busy. Had a grate fire tonight and read and sewed most of the evening. Con and Claude called on Miss Wilder and the Allens. May 5. Wed. Pleasanter. It was lovely tonight and Claude & I rode to the park after supper. and around the circle (small one.) We were sitting on a bench when Ned appeared and we rode around again. Coming out we met Mary & Con and of course they turned around & came back with us. Mary
