the 4:15 train up to Peterboro. Mr & Mrs. Myers went all the way along with us - going to Burleigh. At Peterboro we had an hour 5:30 to 6:30 and went up to the Snowdew House in a bus with 2 young men & ate supper with them & a good one it was, too. And we were hungry - there was a maid with a prodigious chignon & Ned played a tune on the glasses. The two young men (one was "McLean" of Toronto) came all the way up with us. At Lakefield it was very gay - Trunks & boats & people were out on the Majestic and Mr. Graham came & talked to us & all the way up - as we sat in the stern - he or Mr Rogers or Harry Buell or somebody chatted with us and the lakes were beautiful & the cedar was sweet. At Youngs point lock it began getting dusky & all thro' Clear Lake it con- tinued and by the time we reached the Shanty it was dark & people looked funny by lantern light - Ernest Millard was there. At other places they had illuminations and fireworks & bonfires and we twisted and turned around and
