June 17 Thurs. Worked hard. It rained some and I was tired & retired to my room right after supper and to bed at 8:30! June 18. Friday An ideal summer day. Busy, of course. Claude went to Geneseo to let the contract for Judge Coyne's house & rode back on his wheel - Mama went to the YWCA "tea" at the Sea Breeze - Crouch's - on the 4 o'clock train & I followed at 5 - with an Anthony Hope to read on the way. It was a lovely ride. After coffee, cake & sandwiches on the lawn & a few chats with a few people I knew, Mama & I strolled down to the lake & I established her all "comfy" in a sightly place, while I hunted up the baby whose picture I took two weeks ago - and found it and delighted the family by presenting them with the picture. Then I went back to Mama & we both read and enjoyed the beautiful shimmery lake and the lovely curving shores - and the pink & white and purple & yellow sunset and the blue shadows stealing in the sweet odors of clover and moist breezes from the lake & the evening coming. When we had picked clovers & started back we found Helen Davis & Minnie Leahan
