saw her & where &how &c.&c. her family - his sister's objections, "Ma Knott" &c.&c. It was nice of him & I was mightily interested in that and other things he told me of - some of which - of course - I had known before. June 15th Tuesday Still lovely, but warmer. Showery this p.m. More dressmaker - noon & night - supper & the Park at 7 where Ned, Nellie & Edith expected me & they'd had sandwiches & coffee & we rode the new cycle paths & "sat beside the river - saw Frank Davis & Harry Gould & lots of others - and Con came along & sat down with us and "jollied" Helen about Will & I reclined on a fragrant haycock till Con made me get off. Finally we rode around the little circle again & the moon showed it's red face a bit & then everyone must needs go home - but Ned, Nellie & Con stopped here for lemonade & a game of Pedro - in which Ned & I beat after they were 34 to our 2! 11+ to bed. June 16. Wed. Busy & uneventful. Stopped to see Mary this noon. She's been sick 2 days. We had a little "spoon" together & tonight ditto with Matie at G & McC's. I stayed in (tho' the night was lovely) & washed dishes tonight and after 8 rode down to Edith's. She had gone to see "Clark & Effie" & I had a nice visit with Elsie on the piazza, & Will told fishing stories & wild-game-photograph stories etc. Got home about 9:30 & wrote the rest of the evening - except to stop & chat with Claude after eleven!
