We leaned over the rail half an hour - and a lot of redcoats came (in Scotch cap) - regular "Tommy Atkins" and amused us and asked questions. They all had that simple baby look-alike but indescribable. When we wandered up the oak stairway again our friends had disappeared - but we went over to look & "yearn" over the American Fall in like manner and pretty soon they appeared. (more soldiers - & "Canucks" in green, yellow & purple badges, belts, ties & hat bands.) Then Will said we must go to dinner by one-thirty but suggested we go down by the Cave of the Winds first - So we walked down 85 spiral steps and along a rocky ledge overhung with beautiful gray & green dripping rocks - (the boys sheltered our hats and shirt-waists with their coats) and down a wet ledge of shale (where they hauled boards - and to the very entrance of the Cave - & there we sat and enjoyed the wonder of it for a long time - Saw a tarpaulin-covered party emerge &c. &c. It was beautiful beautiful - all along there. Dinner time came & after another short spin in the woods we spun over to the International, where two be-buttoned flunkeys rushed out for our wheels & Ned & I were
