is not at all well and thinks she may have to go to
Worcester and recuperate. She didn't come home
with us. Con and I played two game of
Pedro against
Ned & Claude - and beat them badly!
May 6. Thurs.
I've been too busy to go into the boys' office lately &
Con swears he hasn't seen me "for
a month!" - the dear boy. Claude
went to Despatch yesterday to start the new
depot! Tonight Con, Ned, Rose, Edith
and Mary came for me and we all
rode out to the park - It was delightful. We saw and listened to the
evening sounds and then went to the Refectory - a cozy spot
of light gleaming between the trees - and had hot buttered pop-corn
- and took a little walk down the path in the wood (by young
moonlight) and fed a cat and then came away. Con met us but (he'd been to our house) and all of us but
Ned & Rose
rode back to Mary's for a little
call.
Con and I left about 10 and he stayed here
till 11.
Helen Davis was here - just before supper,
but wouldn't stay.
May 7. Friday
Another lovely spring - blossom day. I do not
feel well tho' - either mentally & physically and rather
collapsed at noon - didn't go back to the office. Gilmore was very good to me. Slept two hours or so and
lounged about in my lovely room. After supper Con, Ned,
Edith & Rose came
