Angel's food, macaroon & Teall's Tutti frutti cream. "Charley" waited on us - Mabel had a poem for the occasion & the President sent us one - with pictures of her rooms in Bloomsbury. Afterwards we had "music & conversation", Mrs. Brunner came down & Mabel was a circus - Sang about the lovely little maiden with the downcast eye ("Be careful of the downcast eye!") and "Give dem presents back" "I wan' dat cook stove, I wan' dat chaiah" &c &c. May played a new two-step she has composed - "The Rough Riders" - five! I took a picture but the powder was forever going off and fogged it. Came home at 11:30 with the Mac Arthur's (Theo Con offered to come for me.) We all enjoyed it.

(13th )
Thursday night Mary, Edith & I went to see Mrs. Fiske in "A bit of old Chelsea" (A lovely little studio-flower- girl-one-act-play) and "Love find the way". A truly terrible & terribly
Cyclom. 4700.
true story of a lame girl's life and "Emotions" & sympathies & unsympathies It was tragic - of course - and made me cry I confess. The leading man was magnetic & in old Chelsea reminded
