His Verona friend, Duffield Osbourne got the third prize for one of Life's Short Stories. The girls they met in Verona call them "The two gentlemen of Verona" Seymour Bunnell says. He met the girls. Con went up the lakes Monday. He took my camera & came to bid us goodbye Sunday night. Frank Davis was here - I'd been up there in the p.m. and to Lura's to dinner and made prints at the office a good deal of the morning. Mary is better, but Mrs. Jones is very sick. I went to the hospital & saw her Sunday. Sept. 3. Sat. and I've been today - and what a difference. She is very very sick and we are all terribly worried about her. I've been terribly busy lately and it's been awfully hot - & is yet. But now Martha & J.W. are home and J.G. is melted and I hope for a respite. Con is up the lakes. I had one of his funny letters today about the "bad jolt"
