and tossed about (after one little nap & some porrige) almost all night long. Apr. 17. Sun. Spent this day in bed, simply because I couldn't get up - a lovely day till 5 o'clock or so it began to rain. I'd read "History of England" awhile & then rest "Trilby" awhile & then rest. French a little while & then rest &c.&c.&c. Got a lovely letter from Hilda - from Ned's - Edith was up a little while this p.m. & this evening I put on my wrapper & went down on the divan to give the bed a rest. Con rubbed my head & told me about his experiences at Scottsville & coming home in the rain. 18th Mon. Managed to get to the office & found J.G. also grippy - "Our colds, Miss Bragdon" he said "are not contagious but contiguous-"! - I agreed. Papa went to Oswego. 19th Tues. No J.G. today - but a cold rain - as there was no J.W. & no Gilmore either, I ran things my way. & "phoned J.G. if I anything serious - Settled Mr. Miner's &c. & went down for a chat with Aroix, but Chat didn't come, so I didn't take my lesson. Mama went to bed early with gripp.
