Then went up to Davis's amd found Charlotte only (& Mr. & Mrs. D.) and we had a nice visit and I ate supper with them, & when Helen came, shortly after Mr. & Mrs. D. had gone to church, we went out in the dining room and ate again. Of course we always talk "Europe" when we're together Tues. 12th Went to the Kodak exhibition with Con - No, it must have been last week Tuesday (5th). I guess - T'was very nice. Today (12th) was Charlotte's birthday - We had a nice French lesson together & I went up there (on Diana) to tea - a delicious one - of chicken - &c.&c. & Frank took us to the Naval Reserve's drill in the evening. Everyone getting ready for war. I staid all night with Helen - lovely morning - lovely weather - lovely wheeling, but 13th Wed. very dusty. J.W.C. went to Washington and Thursday Gilmore & his wife Thurs. 14th went for a week. I lent him my
