Behn, Meta & Theo at a theatre
party. He leaves for Vienna Monday. Today I have
been writing, making prints &c. Papa came home from Watertown,
Oswego & Pulaski
last night. Claude sits here writing
with his new typewriter. I lunched with the Vagabonds Thursday. They've been having their writing read by
"Graphic" very correctly too - all but Walter
Smith's which was very bad - & Mary says it isn't so!
Sun. Mch. 27
A lovely spring day with the smell of earth & young grass in the
air. I was used up and staid abed rather late - & didn't go out
till afternoon church time. Con was here
just arrived - & it was raining a little, but I went with
Mama and heard the stringed
orchestra & a plea for Cuba - Then rode up to
Mae Stull's with Edith, but the house was shut - &
walked home. It was raining hard then, lovely April-y rain &
robin redbreast run- ning about their little fat crops bulging (with
worms, I s'pose!) Got supper for the family when I got home - still
the beautiful rain-patter out-doors.
(21st)
We're in our own new private office,
J.G. & I moved in Monday & it is
very
nice. J.W. has been in
N.Y. all the week, and "Mrs.
Wad" too. Chat & I
took our two French lessons, as usual
