Tonight Claude took me to Otis
Poole's lecture & pictures about
Japan - Very few there but very interesting
pictures.
Feb. 6. Sun.
The last of the week has been slaving - shopping - (a new cordoroy
waist &c) and reading &c. Con
came home to supper with me (under his umbrella) last night - &
spent the evening. Today I read in the window seat & just before
dinner Con & I walked up to the
bridge & back now it is after dinner (a pair of chickens - delicious)
and the "Brutal Brothers" are playing
"Isabelle" - a lovely letter from Hilda
& one from Helen
& from Gertrude this week. Went to church this
p.m. & then down to Edith's to
return a book. Staid till 7 and came up with her & the
Wray's. Then had supper & read "Vanity
Fair".
Feb. 7. Mon.
Lovely winter day - worked hard. Claude
went to
Geneseo with the Court
House plans & brought home five hundred dollars $300
of it in currency. We went to see Harrigan in "Old
Lavender" tonight. He was quite good & Dave
Braham was very captivating One of those magnetic chaps &
Claude insists he looks just like
an old Florentine. Anyway he was good & we enjoyed it first rate. Tho'
the leading lady was a perfect stick & some of the men were
& to tell the truth I didn't think the play was much - except a little
scene now & then.
