He left about 11, to go to midnight service with the Elwoods. I got 17 book - "Gondola Days" from Gilmore ("J. Hankinson Griggs.") Dec. 25. Sat.

A lovely Christmas day, sunny & snowy. More things came by mail & express - A Silver comb from Gertrude, a beautiful Haviland bullion cup from Kate
and Hilda's picture & sweet letters from her, from Maude, from Mrs. Graham & from Charlotte Iles. Edith was up a few minutes & I rode "Diana" down to MacArthur's to see their things (making my 1700th mile this year). This evening Con came up & staid till time to go to Elwood's to dinner - Our dinner was rather late, & soon afterward I went over to Davis's (by invitation) found the Crosby's & the Baker's there & spent quite a jolly evening with them. Dec. 26 Sun. A nice day to enjoy things. Con came to dinner and he and Claude played banjoes. I went over to Davis's because I'd promised to - found Ned & Will there, as I expected & walked down to Lura's - I met Ned & Helen with Will. Had a nice visit. Staid to Lura's to supper & to enjoy her presents & finally came home to enjoy mine. Dec. 27 Mon. Ned & Will were up tonight. They go tomorrow morning. Claude went to Geneseo to settle the Court House matter. I wrote 8 letters.
