Wintry - shopped continually - J.W. is having lots of fun doing up a parcel (a brooch) for his wife in paper after paper - box after box and no end of sealing wax, ribbon & twine - with mottoes "I must remain a stranger to you for a little while" etc. put in - & candy men & animals & all-day - suckers & articles worked "1¢" & lozenges. etc. "J.G. & Anna" are still in N.Y. Dec. 19. Sun. Got up to a nine o'clock breakfast. Snowy & cold & wintry & nice. Con came around in his wheel. Had 4 falls
