Saw Helen Davis a minute this noon & to- night went home to dinner with Lura & spent the evening helping her sew on Matie's things and making a black silk bag for Mama's Christmas. Came home about 10 in a pouring rain storm. No comfort in our cars - Exchange St. is all torn up to the bridges - but I rode around.

Got a nice letter from Maude Weir - with "George's love" &c. and one from Ned. Dec. 15. Wed. More rain. This noon I went up into Frederica's studio and lunched with her and Miss Samson - salad (of course) hot chocolate, cold meat & bread - pickles & mince tarts & a very bohemian cooking outfit & "flavor". Did a little more shopping & tonight wrote to Mrs. Graham & now I read Xmas Harpers weekly. Dec. 16. Thurs. A nice day today. I lunched with the Vagabonds - at Con's & Claude's invitation. We had a real nice time. Mrs. Bangs came too. I had quite a jolly chat with John. Began with Claude, Con & George, only. Mr. Bangs gave us tickets to James Young tonight and Papa and I went together. We sat down in "G" - next Jno. Hilliard & his mother, and enjoyed it very much. Mr. Young made a handsome enough Davey Garrick. He is young (22- H. says) & magnetic and has a most
