supper and left soon after with Frank & his mother, who were going to church. Another evening on the sofa - finished "Madelon" which I like very furch much better than "Jerome". Dec. 6. Mon. Busy, Busy day - every minute. J.W. went to N.Y. J.G. was very "folksy" and nice. Tonight Con came up & spent the evening writing the 2nd Vagabond chapter - very funny - Claude started in with a variety show, of course - "Dodie Zanffretti", the dancer, "Senor Spaghetti" - the "Protean poser" "Cellery Supe" - the stage hand. The "Gumdrop Sisters" - Lottie & Tottie, & Con went on with "Seniorita Enamel" - the bicyclist - Pinkey Marshmallow - "The Banana Peel Brothers - (bell ringers) & the "Cottolene Sisters" (cooking) & their great match with "Crosscut Griddle" - the pancake eater. He worked in a Arthelstaw Mulligatawney "(George)" & "Lovely Woman!" - Really quite a literary venture. I did feel sick tonight - & all night - & it Dec. 7. Tues. was all I could do to go to the office today - but felt better later. Did a little shopping. Had a nice letter from Ned, & Mary walked up with me this noon & Edith tonight & staid to supper & till 8:30 - then I wrote. Ned & Will went to Toronto last week. Forgot to say Claude & I called on the Bangs' last night. Had a nice time, too. They are very interesting.
