Will bunked in the hall bedroom.
Mary &
Edith
had the bed & I the divan (a cot) & slept like a
Nov. 28. Sunday
log till morning dawned & Ned came
in all lovely & got in with me. We got up for a 9:30 breakfast
& then loafed most of the morning - took pictures, talked - &
Will "per- formed" - He calls
Ned "Dawling" and "Peacherino" and
she puts in his studs & gets his slippers & does many wifely - and
unusual - acts. Has only seen one new magazine
since her marriage and is actually economical & dresses to suit
Will in preference to herself -
A great change, the girls think - but I'm not sure. About noon we
went to Will's office in the
Gluck building and to the Post Office and then strolled over
to Goat Island& the
Three Sisters - hackmen chasing us half the way - we
tho't we saw Nausen on the "Sisters"
but are not half sure. The
Horseshoe was very beautiful - with the beautiful
frost-trees above it- fading - or rather
brightening into rich greens & browns & out in the river a pale
rainbow glimmered under the pale blue sky. It was dinner time when
we started home - pausing to admire the Cataract House with
it's quaint cupola & Spanishy roofs beneath & funny dormers
turning to watch the falls. We went
home by
Sixth Street - with several fine old houses & some
new ones (by Orchard, too) and
arrived after the
