all the girls. They went home about one or half fast -
Mr. Dymond
&
Hilda very reluctantly to get
up for the seven o'clock morning train, I did hate to have Hilda go - she is so lovely & she
had such a bad cold & such a long walk before her - Mr. D. declared he
shouldn't go to bed at all. Mr. Ashton left later
still (another long walk for him and of course Mr.
Mason
staid (after seeing Aunt Helen Weir home - in
black silk with a train - another point lace cap &c.&c. - a
perfect chaperone) Hal
saw Jessie's sister home of course &
George
sat in the corner seat with Mary & I & Hal
came & "Jack
" came & Hal & I smoked a
"snipe" together and we chatted till Maude &
Nell & Mrs. Weir made us have
"supper"! and then to bed - after such a full
day of course
(Nov. 26 Friday)
we were "fearfully" late up - Maude went early - to school,
George
to the bank & Mrs. Weir
came in about 10 to ask if she should bring up our breakfast - I
said "no" & got up just in time to Miss Mr.
Mason, who went at 10:25 and had breakfast with
Hal & his mother & took Mary's to her. The
rain was pouring down. I spent the rest of the morning in the pleasant
drawing room window talking with Hal - whom I think
is a dear boy - he showed me the cutest
picture of himself & Jessie Wilks - which
all the girls. They went home about one or half fast -
