I danced with Mr. Mason of course (but not all the times he asked me) Couldn't get a give Hal one, but had a nice waltz & chat with George

- a couple with a Mr. Brooks (who is a flirt) one with a Mr. Watts - and several others I can't remember - a big whiskered - very English one (Zealand?) whom we met at the Gilson's afterward and who came and talked with me at the Armory Friday night. I saw a clerical gentleman ask Mr. Dymond to introduce him (after some talk) and he proved to be a curate (Mr. Headley) who had "given up dah-ncing evidently sorely against his will "when he was ordained - and apologized profusely when he asked if he might talk to me a little while - Mr. Dymond said he shouldn't come till ten - but Hilda informed me she left word with Mrs. Alfred that "Miss Bragdon didn't care much for dancing & that would bring him early - I think it was early - I didn't see him when he came, but he captured me soon afterward & we had several talks - longish & short. He brought me pictures and things & was full of things to say - we occupied chimney corners & dark stair corners (where) Hilda came to "chaperone" us thro' supper- with Capt. Ashton & a pretty Miss Nichol
