and the rest (George Weir & Helen had gone to "Paris"

to a ball - on the train we came on) and about ten or so, when Jessie got up to go home - we must needs
go into the dining room again for "supper" and after that Mrs. Weir played a waltz for Hal & Jessie, because Jes. wasn't to be allowed to come to the party tomorrow - not being "out." Mary & I turned in in Maude's big room. Hal & Maude had a midnight parade to find out what a Noise was (fallen plaster) and at 5:30 a.m. George arrived from Paris

much delayed freight train. When morning came, came also Hilda in a blanket and very prettily disheveled and Maude partly dressed - for a morning seance. Breakfast was to be "not before nine" but was much later, & Mrs. Weir had to rush from it to St. Jude's - to give thanks - in a "cab" too, for it was pouring rain! It stopped a little later & just as Mary, Hilda & I started out for the Blind Institution Nell arrived from Paris
- a wreck. She had stayed all night but was very much done up. We took Brantford Street cars out thro' the pretty yellow-brick town - passing chief Brant's monument and picturesque City Hall "George's Bank" etc.etc. The Asylum
grounds were very beautiful.
