Oct. 26 Tuesday
A lovely day. I rode up to lunch with
Lura and at 5 bustled home to dress, to
go to Davis's to a farewell dinner to
Dr. Ewers, who is to be
married the 3rd. of Nov. Con came for me - and besides the Dr. & the 5 Davises were
Lura and Mr.
DeGraff. We had a very pretty and "folksy" and jolly dinner
(& good and afterward talked awhile and played Pedro) and had some music. Came home about 10:30 I took
Charlotte "Bermuda" to read & she lent
me "Innocents Abroad". Mrs.
D. got home from Hamilton's
tonight.
Oct. 27. Wed.
Cyclom 4100
Pleasant. J.G. has played golf
every p.m. this week & J.W. is in
N.Y.Mama is house cleaning the Vagabonds are flourishing - much & the
Behns have torn down the Quaker
Church &
McGregor house & are building a double house there.
Tonight I took another ride after before supper -

Oct. 28. Thurs.Mr. Phillips "our Chicago man" is here today
- waiting for Toronto work to be ready. Con says George
(Humphrey) walked down in his bicycle suit this
morning & that he is a "living example of skeleton steel
construction". When Guernesey Wheeler
sings he says "not being his family physician" he doesn't know "what
to precribe for him". Took a ride out to the Culver
