creamed oysters - fried and brown bread & butter - fried chicken and green peas & creamed potatoes & rolls - pickles - chicken salad with walnuts in creamcheese & crackers and ice cream - cakes bonbons & coffee. It was nearly nine o'clock when we finished. Then we played seven games or so of Pedro and the Brides got the prizes - Matie a lovely handkerchief (first) and Ned a little skeleton (booby). Then we had music songs &c.&c. & Nellie piped up with an original parody on "All coons (brides) look alike to me". Friday Oct. 1 Lovely day. Tonight Mama & I went up to Ned's (at her Aunt's) a little while & saw her presents & had a little chat. Stopped at Lura's coming down & saw Mrs. Baker too. Lura tells me her mother is fond of me ("in love with me - she says!) L. was making a pillow for Ned's wedding present & a lamp- shade for Matie's. Got home latish - cars are bad. Sat. Oct. 2 Another lovely day. J.G. went "golfing" this p.m. and I went to the football game. Gilmore invited me, but was detained by dressmaker's looking at rooms. First half was just over (4 to 0 in our favor) when I got there. Harold True came right up and talked to me & said nice things - all through the rest of the game. The score results 22 to 0 - and it was rather a short game. I got back just as G. was thro' with the dressmakers!
