Avenue first up & down the various streets. Then up to supper & had two games of Pedro with Charlotte & Mr. D. afterward & the girls were going to ride down to the bridge with me - but just as I started a great nail ran into Diana's back tire & way into the rim! The tire went flat right off. And I took a steet car. Sept. 26. Sunday Rain & sunshine, alternating, all day. I stopped for Mary & we went to Matie's & spent the day directing invitations & announcements. 700 or more (2 envelopes each) of them. Bob was there & he & Mary worked at one table & Matie & I at the other. We never finished till after six o'clock. Of course we stopped for dinner - a very swell one - roast chicken &c.&c. peach short cake. People kept coming & going Raymond

- Charlie Arnold, Henry Child & the Castles. We were both tired out when we got back. I was going down to Edith's to see her & Ned - but didn't -Alice & Ida MacArthur go to N.Y. in the morning. Sept. 27. Monday Nice day - Walked & rode a bright blue wheel while Diana was mended. Tonight rode down to Freddie's where Ned was - & had a nice old-fashioned time. Edith came over & we wrote the announce- ment envelopes ("wedding outsides") &c.
