wet my handkerchief with water and get some for her to drink &c.&c. & we soon had a crowd & a camphor bottle from somewhere & so it went for sometime. Everyone prescribing & fussing. After a while we got a country buggy & got her in - & her wheel (which I discovered with a broken chain) & Ned got in with her & "Jake" drove them to Scottsville while "Pete" rode Ned's wheel & of course we girls wheeled back up the long hill. By the time the buggy came along they were in sufficient spirits to allow me to take a picture (!) and Mabel entreated me to take also the back view - which I endeavored to do from my wheel (in very poor light) after stopping at the Cargill house for brandy & a rest! We drove to the R. & P. station, & there had to wait an hour for the 6:35 excoursion train. We saw a lovely sunset (but a cold one) - were glad to welcome the train as it came round the curve at dusk. Got into the City about 7. (Willie Filmer was at the station - had been to Silver Springs to see his girl) & we put Matie on a car & wheeled home. I stopped a minute to give Mary a "Souvenir spoon" from Ned, and of course had to tell her & Nellie all about it. Got home in time for a nice kitchen-supper - to which Con came also and he staid till 10:30 or so, I was tired. Sept. 20. Monday. Rain today - but I did manage to get "Diana" - back & forth. Found Mrs. Drury sitting cozily by the fire, when I arrived tonight. She was here to sell
