Asylum a little while & heard a graphophone.
Claude had a funny time - with a base-
ball nine - in Geneseo yesterday & Gilmore & his wife & the
Zimmer's had a barn dance - Con was invited, but missed his train! Clara Wilder
told Claude a funny story of how

were dining at the Waldorf - or "Del's" &
ordered oysters & shredded cabbage. They were charged 80 cents
for the cabbage and both began to weep - telling each other how the price
of cabbage had gone up since morning when their father sold a whole
load for a dollar etc.etc. & keeping it up so long that the waiters
couldn't make them out at all & everyone around was laughing
& finally a man came over from the next table - held but his
hand thanked them for a funny half-hour & announced himself as
Richard Mansfield & "finished the evening" with them

& soon engineering photograph deals & a lot of things - all at
once.

To begin where I left off - last Friday
Papa, Mama
& I went up to Helen Davis's to
supper - I came home & took a bath beforehand (it
