Frank & Helen Davis & Miss Chase sat with us. The games were rather tiresome - some good races & pole-vaulting - till it came to Basket Ball (very late) and that was fine. Big athletic Mr. Bawden was fun to watch & Morse - the runner. We left at 10 minutes of 12 - end of first half(!) Score 4 to 2 in Rochester's favor (final was 8 to 10 - 4 of the Syracuse ones on our fouls!) Walked up with Miss Chase. Mch. 19. Friday Met Ned this noon and we decided to go in costume - as she doesn't expect to be here at the "ball". It was a stormy night - sprinkled a little when we went and poured when we came home. We surprised the girls. I was "Salvation Jane" of the Salvation Army - & had a "War Cry" to sell, and Ned was supposed to be Buffalo Bill - but was altogether too pretty and lady-like. She forgot her hat. We played diligently. I began & ended with Charlotte and she took the pin. I was so glad. Mabel Rogers was a close second. We had a nice croquette & coffee supper - and "Bill" could only get one side of his moustache off - and ate so. We talked bicycles and "barns" and cats & things. I went out with Charlotte & we were very gay. Poor Emma - sick upstairs - must have lain awake. We "posed" playing pedro - no poker - &c. afterward Mrs. Baker & Lura touched off the flash.
