and I went out to Pittsford on Diana - arriving there just the moment
Mama's train did & we
walked up to "Mrs. Steele's " lawn together - where
Helen Davis was running a
YWCA "bicycle tea" - It was a nice big
rambly old house & we enjoyed it. Had tea etc. & walked around the
town & finally everyone went home on the 8:22 train.
Mrs. Ed Gould kept Mama listening.
Sept. 5. Sun.Lovely - a perfect day. Charlotte asked me to go to Sea Breeze with her - & I asked "the crowd".
Edith came while I was eating
breakfast & we stopped for Helen
& Will
(I had a chat with him) & then went to Davises' where Charlotte& Frank
joined us in a ride to Sea
Breeze. 7 3/4 miles from Avondale Park.
Frank& I rode two abreast a long
way on the cinder path. The golden rod is all out & the purple
asters beginning & it is lovely. The breeze was sweet & we
rode fast & all enjoyed it. At the
Crouch's farm, by invitation we all dismounted
& went down the lane & into the orchard for peaches & ate them
right from the trees, most delicious - Then Chat & I sat in a shady place & the rest came
& we ate & rested till about time for the 12:30 train - which we
took for home - Eating peaches all the way.
