Aug. 30 Mon. Sept. 3. Fri. Rather an uneventful week - A good deal of rain too. Wednesday Claude, Con & I went to Charella's to dinner - & had a very pleasant evening - Miss Humphrey was there & we talked Europe etc.etc. & had same lovely music & a fire in the grate. Freddie was up Tuesday night - after such a long time & we played Anagrams. She took Mama for a drive on Friday. I have nice letters from Mrs. Graham & Mrs. Lindsay &c. about pictures etc. Mason Gray has been in with his to show me. Thursday night the girls got home - Ned brought me a pretty picture of Maude Adams & got me some buttons I ordered. Charlotte & Helen spent that evening with me. Sept 4. Sat. Another gorgeous day, after the storm. Everyone went away this p.m. Claude to Mr. Bangs's - at Forest Lawn - for a nice time with Harvey. Gilmore to the lake Con to the Canoe Club - & Martha too and the "boys" to play golf. I kept office till 4:30 when Gilmore tied my bundles up for me & started for the lake
