We went to Mrs. Drury's (Passed Anna Lyman- Hart & her 3 weeks old baby - Henry Lyman- Hart) & found her very glad to see us. Then went to Mame's where we were invited to tea & to stay all night. Jennie Davis came to tea too. It was very nice & "Papa Stowell" was very agreeable Clara made some "fudges" which we had in the evening. Where we had a long, old- fashioned visit. Trudy & I slept together & hard. Aug 21. Sat. Emerson appeared at breakfast & sat. next to me. Afterward we got Jennie D. (stopped at Drury's) & took the car to the Oswego Beach, as we supposed, but I stopped at the car barns, so we rode back to Fifth Street & saw Sloan's house (C.F.B's design)
& Conde's (& heard numerous gossip) And went down to the hill overlooking the harbor - where a schooner was loading coal & yachts were coming & going and boys were flying kites. Finally we went back to town & shopped - at P.O. & Oliphant's - where I had a time visit with Alice
