J.G. let me go today and Trudy & I started out early for
Oswego, via. the Arundell.
Con came down to the station to see
us off and went way to Charlotte
with us, and then almost got left by the train - which went just
before the boat did. It was rather rough going over - but such a
clear beautiful day. We did enjoy it & were not sick. Ate our
luncheon & candy Gilmore sent me
and had a good visit, arriving at
Oswego about 1:30 or so - Mame met us & "Uncle Will", who
took us up to the 9th street house (239) to dinner
with "Aunt Nellie ". They were very cordial and there was some
of the old familiar furniture &c. We had some fine coffee for
dinner. Then dressed and went over to make some calls - at the
Hines' where we met Nellie & her sister
&
Mrs. Hines. Then to Mrs. Bassett's
& found
Kate was in
Walton. Then to Jennie
Davis' where we saw her & Annie &
Mate Parsons and Mrs. Davis. Then to
Taylors - no one home - & to Mrs.
Andrews
who told us all about Gene & his Greek experiences &
showed us his photo- graphs & a piece of the pulp he took of the
Parthenon inscription with, & some
