Ned's Sunday
(7th) I made no end of blue prints and the rest of the week
(mostly) I've been sorting them out and putting them into books for
Hilda &Maude and sending them away and today - I'm happy today -
The first 4 rolls came to Hovey -
only having been 20 days on the way! One night (Monday) I went down to
Mary's & she was upstairs crying
& Emma & I had a long long
talk about it. Something is the matter. And has been for 3 or 4 months.
Today Gilmore took Matie & me to lunch at Sibley's & we had a jolly time. She's
going to have me at the house to "breakfast" tho' I'm not of the
wedding party. Maude Weir sent me a
lovely picture of herself. Con has
been up 2 or 3 evenings and now he hasn't heard from his beloved for
nearly three weeks - poor thing.
Martha is away, but writes of all sorts
of good times at the 1000 Islands
- and Mrs Goodyear
left today for Chemong (where we were.)
Mrs Meyer tol me I had "made a conquest" at
Stony Lake, and it turned out to be
Mr. Fuller, the lock-tender - who showed me his
cottage & the swallow's nest. Mr.
Gilmore
jollies me all the time about being "The life of the party" etc.
& we have long Stony Lake
talks. J.G. is expected home
tonight. I am worried about Mary.
Edith is spending most of her time
with Ned & I've been down there
tonight. Mary Young was there.
Geo. Humphrey has called 3 times. I only
in once!
