we finished took a walk down the hill into the village - a quaint little place - we didn't go so very far as the boat started back at two - pretty promptly. I went down stairs in the bow and got in a rocking chair and held my parasol down over me and almost - if not quite - went to sleep. Harold True said I did - he peeked at me! I also had a flirtation with Ruth

- who seems to like me - dear child. We were to stop at the Indian Village, half an hour - & just after we tied up there & had started off - (we had to walk two beams of the dock & I only picked flowers & came right back) a thunder storm came up suddenly & very furiously - the people came running & most of them got in before the worst of it - but a regular hurricane struck the boat & almost broke it away, and a ball of lighting rolled across the deck & exploded like a pistol shot - It was really quite terrible - but I'm be- coming used to these things. Everyone was more or less wet & some very much frightned. We arrived at Buckhorn at about 4:30 - it had cleared then & was beautiful. We had been watching it in the bow and it was gorgeous. They took on wood and waited over half an hour
