forlorn dead tree - land - partly submerged - on the other - I sat
with Mr. Dymond
down in the bow. We smoked & we talked - He asked the name of
the man Helen
was going to marry, and said he had heard quite a good deal

. I
agreed that she was mighty nice &c. &c. and he took his pipe out
and glanced around at me with a smile and said "But you were her
special favorite - and the one she liked best"
It was quite a poser for me - quite unusual.
Mr. D.
left us at
Buckhorn where we got off & strolled about
across the dams & to the "store". Then we passed thro' Big
& Little Buckhorn Lakes - past the Indian
Village
(near where you travel off to Bobcaygeon)
thro' Mud Lake - into Chemong -
past the village "North" "and to Chemong Park
landing passing a curious float bridge 3/4 of a mile long and a boat
house where a man was just bringing in a lunge. 7 of us (including
the Myers & their friend) walked up the steep
bank & thro' the pretty grove to the hotel where we ordered dinner
& had to wait till quarter of one for it (it was then 12 o'clock)
We spent the time washing, drinking lemonade & resting. Dinner
was very good - oh yes, there were 8 of us - Ralph too. We were a long time at table & when
