Mch. 7. Sunday A beautiful, sunny day. Claude rode "Leo". I staid home as my face is still swollen & feel badly. Made prints wrote - Mary & Emma were up a little while. They are looking for houses. We suggested Mr. Behn build them one, here by us. Just after dinner, Ned & Rose drove up in a hired buggy. They were going to Charlotte's when Edith came. I read awhile & about 5 (or 4:30) they came back, with Edith, and after getting warm, left her & took the horse back, Edith staid to supper & we discussed Kirkpatrick &c. and before we had finished supper, Helen Davis & Lura came. They had walked from Avondale Park. I was tired when they are had left. Mch. 8. Monday. Felt badly & didn't go to the office. Spent the day between divan & work table - resting, reading, & making an outing flannel waist. Ned was up for a little while this noon. Mch. 9. Tuesday. My face still swollen, but felt some better & went down town - tho' it rained. Had to write a long "interview" for J.G. & got very tired & suffered with headache &c. tonight, Claude was an angel, rubbing my head & reading the "Book of Snobs" to me etc. Spent a miserable night, utterly discouraged Mch. 10. Wed. Rainy morning, felt awful. Took the car down to the office, to see things were OK, then went to Dr. Collins & he said it was my tooth & lanced it. It hurt (in spite of cocaine) and I felt so used-up
