church There were only 10, including the man (not
Hartley) who conducted the service and the Holy
Communion was very impressive and beautiful. I nearly fainted tho' without
breakfast &c. & scared Maude - nothing serious, however. It lasted 3/4 of an hour
& then we strolled down to the dock - where wild flowers
bordered the path, and on the dock I was presented to
Hartley and Mr. Tait. and
the former was invited over to tea by
Mr. Dymond
approved my
steering. He says Hartley is 29 years old. He him-
self is 33, he says. &c. There was talk of the Church of
England etc. We reached Viamede just in time for the late breakfast. All day was
spent on piazza, &c writing and talking. The rain poured, some
of the time and Miss & Mr. D.
came back from Hall - [illegible] church soaking.
After dinner (& some I wrote some letters
& then went to the (wet) hammock & had a nap. Just as I woke up
(after 5) Mr. Dymond

Mr. Hartley came along and said they had passed
me - sleeping. They staid awhile & talked to me, and
