July 23 Friday I was just falling off to sleep when another storm came up and Mary came in to stay with me and staid an hour and a half and I didn't get to sleep for another hour - so had about 4 hours in all. Was a little late to breakfast, as I got up just before the last bell rang. There were clouds in the sky but Mr. Dymond

corralled enough of us to make a party to Indian River. He & " Hilda" & Miss Dymond in one boat Mr & Mrs. Lindsay, Dr. Pond & Bob in another and Ned, Maude & I in another. (Ned steering) Mary felt sick & staid abed all day & Edith preferred to stay with her. We got started about half past ten & had a nice row up & got some beautiful water lilies in Gilchrist's Bay - when we got out and "portaged" ("foraged", Edith said). The "Lorna Doone" across to the Indian River & went to fishing. Ned caught an elegant 4 pound (exactly) bass - & Dr. Lindsay got a big one, too. Hilda & Maud found a place to sit over by the dam & I staid there with them a few minutes. Then Ned came for me & we went to "Julian Star" and saw the cross dog "Luther" and the same woman - who
