245AUGUST 24 Wed 1910
Got a letter from J.G. Of course he wasn't
surprised (!) He never is. It tried to be nice.
Home to lunch & do errands. Tonight read the
"Chaperone" till I was very sleepy. Then went to bed &
couldn't sleep and got up & wrote. The boys came down to see
Gran'ma. Coburg
pictures no good. Lura has a house!
Thurs 1911.
(of Buffalo
& Alexandria) a perfect day. Lovely Canadian Farms
mountains - clouds - gulls - people - good meals. A long lashed handsome
French boy (who said
Q-hec
.) for waiter. Lovely french villages - gorgeous
sunset & sail up Saguenay in cold. Northern lights,
light houses &c. Lots of fun over "Percy" & his lady - friend the
actresses &c. Lovely boats rainbows at Murray Bay -
a few "Sun Showers" - everyone pleased.
Sat 1912
Nice morning & rather
showery early in p.m. Went up lunch with the boys & Nana & I took them over to the West
High Athletic Field to see Folk dances &c. Later, Henry & I went on to Genesee Valley Park
& had such a fine time! He saw Anna Smith on
horseback & went on the merry-go-round and met "Uncle
George
" who gave him a golf ball, &c. &c. Mother had sent a good supper ready!

purtrished on acct. of new (colored) help.

supper with Mother dear.
