69MARCH 9 Wed 1910
Sunny & everyone but I
seemed to think it fine. It seemed bleak & Marchy to me. Spent much
of the day writing to J.G.C. (at
Old Point) and of the evening, hunting Peter (carousing out- doors!) Also went to
Mrs. Short's to be fitted & to Marguerite for a visit &c. Home at noon &
to Sibley's
opening. Geo Bradshaw (who disappeared on Monday
hasn't appeared yet. Alice much worried.
Chan swallowed a marble.
Thurs 1911.
I am making a cross-stich
guest book for Mary's birth-
day. Finished tonight - a "birdie" and a yellow cat (!) & "Guest book
of Mary Mac Arthur".
Neuralgia still better - Will have a tooth out & see!
see mem.
Sat 1912 see mem. Bright nice day. Alice
Galloway lunched with me. Poor old J.G. is acting almost foolish over her. I delight in his
change of heart, how- ever. We talked till 3 then I went to the office a
few minutes & then out to Mrs. Wolfe for the rest of
afternoon. Mrs. Gannett was there some of the time. Had a
nice call & tea. Had a nice time tonight (it was cold enough) &
read Joe Husband's "A Year in a coal Mine".
Sun 1913
Warmer. The boys came down
(with
Letitia) this a.m. and I took them up
for dinner (Mother went from church) It
was awfully wet walking. Went to
Edith's new room (178 Lake
Ave.) this p.m. & was invited to Mae Stull's to dinner but didn't go.
Mrs. Webster was here & stayed to dinn supper. Mother & I both pretty tired.
Mon 1914
More snow! Got a note from
Trudy saying her Aunt Nellie died
yesterday and Mother & I decided to
go to the funeral tomorrow. I went down town & lunched with Chat this noon - to the station for tickets
tonight and this evening washed dishes, sewed, wrote accts. and now I
wash my hair!
