246AUGUST 25 Thurs 1910 Terribly muggy hot day. Rode down with Marguerite (all dressed up) this p.m. & back with Mrs. Farmer tonight. Took a bath before supper. Mrs. Rowe made quite a long visit on the piazza. Tonight about 11:30 the temperature dropped suddenly - in 10 minutes - about 15 degrees! The Davis's may build Lura & Mrs. B. a house in their side yard! Fri 1911 Woke early in harbor of St Alphonse. Nice walk & cute children to Kodak (gorgeous sunset early) Windy trip down the river but very fine - especially [illegible] Trinity - Echos &c. Walk at [illegible] - old church (1688) hotel & lovely walk over the mt. thro' the woods. Indian relics. Afternoon with Pratts on upper deck - jolly - not really so pretty scenery as yesterday. walk at dusk at Murray Bay, later - bride & groom - almost to P.O. to Manor Richelieu (fine) Said goodbye to people from Phila-Serenade to "Clarinda" & "Kelly" - regular vaudeville - fire works &c. Music by Miss Pratt & the singer. A cold night - going cloudy. Sun. 1912 Warm day but nice. Our dear boy is home & I spent a pleasant Sunday p.m. with him. We were there to dinner. I sat out on the north terrace all the p.m. reading & talking & the boys & I walked to the car with him. He is fat! Mon 1913. Cool & pleasant. The boys seemed glad to see me. I lunched with Lura, Mary G. & Miss Campbell at 5 Mother came & we went over to the Gordon & saw "Uncle Tom's Cabin" & other things. Then to the Manhattan to supper. Home after nine & I was up very late clearing up my desk, film &c. and writing. Mother still coughs badly. Tues 1914 Cool & fine. Had an interesting lunch with Miss Upton, who is reading my horoscope. To Claude's to dinner & heard some of the Band Concert. Eugenie looked so pretty in White & a touch of black
