202JULY 12 Tues 1910 I was so late I didn't go to the Hospital this a.m. Came home to dinner at Sibley's with Mother & Trudy & went up there tonight. It rained soon after and poured for about an hour or so. I staid till after the new night nurse. Mrs. Priest - came. Father doesn't get very good service from some of them - but others - Miss Weber - (the sapt) are very nice to him. Home about 8:00. Wed 1911 Cooler & consequently lovely today. Everybody (& that a good many!) Happy - This p.m. Mrs. Rowe, Marguerite & I went to South Park by way of Seneca (!) on acct. of crowded cars. Saw beautiful drill on the Polo field & then the lovely Carnival on the river (from opposite the YWCA). Leslie
got 4th canoe prize & the RUC. 2nd float. Walked home by moonlight. The trolley carried about 300000 passenger today!
Fri 1912 Cooler & fine. Mother went to CFB's to supper & I went down to the lake with Mary Mac & had such a nice visit with her & Nellie & the family stayed till about 9. Margaret Bradshaw came up (first asked me to come down!) and led up to the fact that she wanted me to come out to her house privately. (see mem) Sat 1913 The Ford was delivered & Jim took his last lesson today. I was busy of course, lunched at McCurdy's & went to the Hippodrome & then back to work till four (a hard shower, meanwhile) & then Lura & I went to the White City & found Edith &Nellie& Mary there. Had a nice time, of course. Finally Mabel & Frances came, then Helen, Chat & Miss Fuller of NY who goes to St Helena with Helen. A delicious chicken dinner & home late. Sun 14 Hot day. Woke up with a sore throat & didn't feel well all day. Staid home. Claude phoned this a.m. - just arrived. Mother to Mrs. Briggs to dinner. Was quiet all day - This p.m. Matie Hawley came & showed me some of her pretty things. Rain tonight.
