337NOVEMBER 24 Thurs. 1910 Thanksgiving Day. A nice letter from Trudy & one from Mr. Gardenhire
with a check for $230 for Mother & for $227 for me. I went down town & sent Mr. JW Cutler some flowers & a note. He has taken to his bed. Saw Lura & went to the Hippo. Henry went to church with "Nanna". After dinner went to the office & wrote a letter for Claude. Asked Mr. Faught up to supper & later Bess & Mary came & we wrote rhymes & toasted marshmallows &c. in front of fire.
Fri. 1911 Not quite so busy for a wonder. Wrote personal letters to WH. Fred Jo. &c. Claude got his horoscope from Mme de Beilski. Wonderful! But May or June 1913 to Sept. 1914 is going to be a terrible time. Read tonight & went to bed early. Sun 1912 A wet snow storm - nearly all day. Very disagreeable. Lydia
brought her friend [illegible] Laffray home last night & she was here today. Big & jolly & nice a sister of "Mittie" MacConith
- a theatrical man in N.Y. Mother & Coralyn
& I has a nice chicken dinner. Henry spent the afternoon here & was very good. Mrs. L. came back with Lydia
to supper (L. got it.) Mother still very same.
Mon 1913 Busy. Lunched at Sibley's all alone and late. Read "T. Tembarom" to Mother & Miss K. tonight. Tues. 1914 Still cold & snowy. Lunched alone but saw Florence
& Mary
came in this p.m. CFB & Gorsline at poster stamp business. Irene stopped for me & talked to me all the way to the church, where we found Florence. They walked part way up with me - in a sleet storm - & Irene phoned me afterward. Tonight Mother & I read aloud to each - other & then wrote &c. Shopped some.
