5JANUARY 5 Wed. 1910.
Cold and sleety till
afternoon then got some warmer. Father
& Mother came to Sibley's to lunch & then we looked at
house coats, silk waists, dies &c. (For Father
and Mother respectively.) Stopped at
#18 - Mrs Short's - to- night (about Mother's waist) Later called on the
Caring's & saw Elsie's new room & hers & Dolores' new dresses and went over to
Marguerite's & heard all about
her trip to Syracuse. Then I read a little & wrote
two letters in my cozy little room - the cats on the bed meanwhile.
Dr.
Millard died.
Thurs. 1911
Cold. Blizzard this a.m.
but bright & fine later.
Mother came down & we bought "white sale"
goods (4 drawers & 2 chemises) Mother got a new black silk waist - perhaps I will keep one
she had sent home too. Went home to supper with Lura. Florence
Penfield was there & taught me a new game of
solitaire - with two packs of cards. Got home rather late
& was up again till after midnight.
Fri. 1912
Awfully cold. Shopped some.
Edith J. came up to dinner (such a good
one.) and we sat by the fire afterward.
Miss Winifred Daly's friend from Oswego
is to have one front little bedroom a few nights. She's an attractive
little thing.
Sun. 1913
Home went all day today.
Mother not very well.
Lydia
came in time for our late breakfast. Tonight went to Lura's
to a nice supper & a good visit.
Home after ten. Still very wintry.
Mon. 1914
Really getting caught up
& thinking of going to Dansville. Shopped and ate
at
Sibley's. Saw Bess & Mary. Went to the
Hippo at night (Mother
out) & came down Main St. in the car with
Marguerite, just back from Gay
