133MAY 12 Thurs. 1910
Still cold - but Father insisted on putting on his gray suit!
Mother worked in attic & I staid down.
Gilmore went to the ball game
& the Cutler's off somewhere. JW is home and far from well. I think. I think - Elsie Caring
is silk abed. Dolores came over to
borrow some mag- azines & then I went over to Meta's for a little visit. She has a girl
again. Father read aloud later. I got
the cats some collars with bells - Peter
objected strenuously to his but PetTinker didn't mind!
Fri. 1911
Some cooler. Still lovely.
Claude got up to meet Mr.
Kittridge at the station at 5:23! Home to lunch. Finishing
Force specification. Met Chattie & Mr. Vick tonight. Sat on the
back piazza before dinner - all the back fruit trees are in blossom and
the horse chestnut trees way out (about 12 days, it took) Martha Siemer called me up - Mar- guerite came over & looked over old
magazines tonight.
Sun. 1912
Warm this morning & a
showery afternoon.
Claude got home from
N.Y. & we went there to dinner & had a nice
visit. Henry in bed. & really
"broke out" with the measles while
Channie was off for a walk to the
Park with me - we sat on Mrs.
Thompson's piazza during a shower on the way home.
Mrs Peters there - very nice. This morning while I
was on the back piazza Frieda came up
visited with me.
Mon. 1913
Pleasant but cool. Happened
to lunch with
Nana & the boys at Sibley's. (The kitchen being painted!)
Tonight Lydia
& the [illegible]
& I went to see the new "Manhattan Players" as the
Lyceum in "The Road to
yesterday". It was very good & lasted
late. Tired & sleepy when - I got home.
Tues. 1914
Horrid cold rainy day. The
worst ever. Went to Hippo. at noon. Lunched with
Bess & Mary. Shopped a little at
Forman's & at night Jim took the boys up from our house in the pouring rain. (He) brought me home!!
