Hotter yet! Went down to
CFB's office this a.m. & Wrote
specifications till 12:30 or so. Then to the Hospital
where I found Mother she & I went
to
Cro'nest to dinner. Trudy had come. Had a very nice dinner &
sat on the lawn awhile & took pictures. Edith had called this a.m. Relieved Mother at the Hospital about 4:30. This evening Lura & her mother &
Mary Maccalled
Mon 1911.
Hottest day I ever
experienced - 100 degree official. Claude taken sick with acute indigestion. Went to the
Club
& spent the day till 3 in a room there (Tappan working on elevators) Then came to the office to
dictate an estimate - & went home in a taxi. Had a very bad night
too (I found out later) I tho't he was better.
Wed 1912 Miss Margaret McDonnell
the trained nurse who has come here to live is real nice. We sat on the
piazza together quite awhile tonight and got acquainted.
Thurs 1913
Got up Earlyish at
Pt-an-Baril station "out of the
world". A lovely long boat ride via. the Pt-an-Baril to the hotel.
saw Jack
& two lovely hound puppies. The whole new addition to the
hotel is done & occupied! And
lovely!! Had a 9 o'clock breakfast & then went over the house unpacked,
had a nap. This p.m. A walk over the Island, An Indian camp & a talk
with Bert (Just Married!) After supper a lovely row.
F told me a lot about her friend-
ship with E.A.S. &c. &c. Even let me
read bits of letters. Slept well after letter writing.
Fri 1914.
Lovely day. Went to Florence's tonight & dined with the 3
girls, Helen D. & Mary
Johnson. Georgian Bay white fish & huckleberry pie! Had
such a nice time.
H. very entertaining & Margaret to be married (to "Art
Taylor") about Sept. 1 Florence
leaves for Algonquin Park Sunday night.
