Sun 1911
Woke at "Wayback" in the blue room with
Mother - a nice day. After breakfast &c.
we had Dem's Calendar on the piazza
(after seeing Mannin off to church) a late dinner -
a few drops of rain and a walk up to the hilltop to see the view. Then a
lovely row at evening (Chas, Mate, Mother
& me) towards when I had a very nice visit with
Ruth's husband - Willard Hooker -
the two little boys "Kenneth Ward" (not quite 3) &
"Junior" (4) Late supper - moonlight & piazza talk.
Tues 1912
Nice morning. Saw the
Anconas off on the way to Cedar
Lake for an all day fish. Then came back to walk with the
Phila girls (whom the stage left yesterday). We went
down past the tennis court & thro' fields to a pretty little bay -
F took-off her shoes. After lunch read in the big
summer house - the artist painting below.
Mrs. Fraser took me for a walk to that big rock after
supper. Then we watched the southerners dance "bunny hug" & "turkey trot"
&c.
Wed 1913
Lunched with Mary Gridley
& she wants to go to Port Bay with me the 3rd
in August. Decided I would & wrote for rooms - also other letters
tonight.
Fri 1914

down this a.m.
Miss Upton hailed me at Sibley's & I lunched with her today - an
interesting conversation from house - boating to astrology. To Miss
McDonald's (dressmaker) tonight and this evening to the
station to meet
Kate Steele. Trudy came
